Detailed JD (Roles and Responsibilities)

Expectations:

Assist in the management and administration of the Tanium platform including upgrades, RBAC permissions and overall administration and tuning. Act as a mentor and resource for teams new to the Tanium platform and conduct help sessions and one-on-one assistance as needed. Work as a liaison between the endpoint teams and the Tanium vendor to drive and resolve issues.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a related field.

• 5-6 years of experience in both Windows and Linux

• 3 years of experience in automation tools/products such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SCCM, Altiris, CFEngine.

• 5 years of experience scripting/developing automations in languages such as Linux Shell, Powershell, or Python

• 3 years of experience in Networking concepts (routers, firewalls, subnetting).

• Skilled in troubleshooting methodologies

• Must have excellent written and oral communications, including technical documents, and process documents.

Roles and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Assist customers in creating questions, reports and dashboards

Good understanding of creating/maintaining Role-Based Access controls in Tanium from a platform standpoint

Review/assist with the creation of scripts as needed to assist customers with issues.

Conduct upgrades and maintenance of the Tanium platform

Triage and engage in problem resolution by partnering with the endpoint teams and the Tanium vendor. Good understanding of the Tanium client, endpoint configuration, and logs for identifying and resolving issue.

Participate in the preparation of materials and oral presentations for customers and management.

May be required to work off-shift, weekend, and overtime hours

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Basic understanding of Sensors, Custom Tags, Scheduled Actions, topology of Tanium platform, user groups.

Basic understanding of the following Tanium Modules: Interact, Asset, Comply, Deploy, Client, Enforce, Integrity Monitor, Patch and Performance.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5 years of relevant experience. 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Experience with Tanium software preferred – Other endpoint management software (i.e. Big Fix, SCCM) may be substituted considered

A thorough understanding of how applications install on the Microsoft Windows platforms and how rpm's are installed on Linux systems

Experience with windows and linux patching

Strong proficiency in scripting language – linux shell, Powershell and/or Python

Experience using REST API to pull data is a plus

Having a Tanium Certified Operator or Certified Administrator is a plus

Experience with VMWare and/or AWS is a plus.

Strong mentoring and communications skills. A large portion of this job is interacting with customers who may have limited knowledge/experience with the tool

Strong problem solving skills and goal driven

Ability to manage multiple projects at a time

Experience working in a large enterprise environment and networks.
