Are you a Test Framework Developer with at least 5 years of relevant experience who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to shape scalable, reusable test automation solutions? Then we would love to hear from you.
What we do in Software Factory at R&D, Polestar:
· We enable multiple teams within R&D to develop, test, and deliver on board embedded software and off board applications
· We take an "automation first” approach, aiming to limit work in progress and streamline the flow of value in the delivery pipeline.
· We develop services that foster Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing of Software to improve delivery velocity and build-in quality.
· We develop test automation solutions that are scalable and reusable across multiple R&D domains and projects.
Your role in Software Factory:
· Have a good sense of humor - we begin our daily stand up by telling a dad joke.
· Collaborate with product owner, software developers, and test engineers to understand test automation requirements
· Develop reusable components for Software Test Engineers who automate tests in Vector CANoe and IPG CarMaker.
· Design and develop features/modules that aggregate to a scalable test framework distributed as a wheel package.
· Ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
· Support CI/CD integration for automated test execution.
Required skills at an intermediate to advanced level:
· Write clean, efficient, and idiomatic Python code following Pythonic principles and best practices
· OOD and OOP in Python with a keen eye for code quality
· Python virtual environments and dependency management
· Python project packaging and distribution
· Unit, Integration, and E2E testing to ensure software reliability
· Git version control system
· Analytical skills to solve complex problems
· Oral and written communication in English
· Collaboration in a multicultural environment
Preferred skills at basic to intermediate level:
· Integrate Python with COM server interfaces (Vector CANoe, IPG CarMaker) to automate automotive testing workflows.
· Robot Framework and custom keyword development using Python.
· Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments.
· Automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
· CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
