Core Java Developer with Spark - Deloitte

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based applications and Spark jobs
• Build scalable batch and streaming data processing solutions using Spark
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and testable code
• Work on performance tuning, debugging, and optimization of Java and Spark applications
• Develop and support APIs, backend services, and data pipelines
• Integrate applications with databases, file systems, messaging systems, and cloud platforms
• Troubleshoot production issues and resolve technical bottlenecks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, QA, and product owners
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines
• Support deployment, monitoring, and production support activities
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Core Java
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, multithreading, collections, exception handling, and JVM concepts
• Experience with Apache Spark, Spark SQL, DataFrames, RDDs, and distributed data processing
• Good understanding of performance tuning and memory management
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Exposure to REST APIs and backend service development
• Familiarity with Git, Linux/Unix, and agile development practices
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
