Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Base24 Maintenance & Production Support Engineer to ensure the operational stability, continuous availability, and performance optimization of our high-volume payment switching environment.

\n

In this role, you will focus on Level 2/Level 3 production support, proactive system monitoring, incident resolution, and deployment validation. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional payment environments (HP NonStop/Tandem) and modern infrastructure, leveraging modern DevOps practices to streamline monitoring, automation, and release processes.

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Base24/Base24 Classic payment switch applications across ATM, POS, authorization, and settlement streams.

\n

• Investigate and resolve critical production incidents, transaction failures, and performance bottlenecks within strict SLAs.

\n

• Analyze application logs, system dumps, and transaction traces (ISO 8583) to execute quick corrective actions.

\n

• Manage production releases, change implementations, and deployment validations using modern DevOps pipelines and CI/CD environments.

\n

• Maintain and optimize automated monitoring tools, alert systems, and dashboards to proactively catch system anomalies.

\n

• Coordinate with Network, Security, and Database teams to manage Visa/Mastercard certifications, connectivity testing, and PIN/cryptographic key exchanges.

\n

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation for critical incident response and scheduled maintenance windows.

\n

Required Technical Skills & Experience (5+ Years)

\n

• Base24 Core: 5+ years of hands-on production support experience with Base24 or Base24 Classic in high-volume environments.

\n

• Platform: Strong proficiency with HP NonStop (Tandem) systems, including Guardian, OSS, Pathway, and TACL scripting.

\n

• DevOps & Automation: Practical knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD environments, and modern tracking/monitoring tools (Git, Jira, ServiceNow, or equivalent).

\n

• Data & Language Exposure: Good understanding of Enscribe, DDL, SQL, and comfort reading/debugging COBOL, SCOBOL, or TAL code during root-cause analysis.

\n

• Payment Ecosystem: Deep understanding of ISO 8583 messaging, card BIN tables, HSM devices (Thales/SafeNet), and clearing/settlement workflows.

\n

Nice to Have

\n

• Basic understanding or exposure to .NET web services/applications that interface with core payment systems.

\n

• Experience migration or support exposure involving Base24-eps environments.

\n
