Conventional Formwork Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Formwork Design Engineer to design, develop, and support both Conventional Formwork

and Aluminium Formwork systems for residential, commercial, high-rise, bungalow, villa, and township development

projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in formwork design, structural coordination, and

design optimization to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Design and execute Conventional Formwork and Aluminium Formwork systems for Residential, Commercial

High-rise, Township, and Villa projects.

* Prepare, review, and finalize formwork layout plans, shell plans, and ensure accuracy as per structural and

architectural drawings.

* Design and coordinate formwork mockups to validate design assumptions and site feasibility.

* Perform quantity calculations and material estimations for both conventional and aluminium formwork

systems.

* Carry out structural and formwork load calculations including Dead Load, Live Load, Fresh Concrete Pressure,

Construction Load, Wind Load, and applicable Safety Factors.

* Optimize formwork design to improve material utilization, productivity, and project cost.

* Coordinate with Structural, Architectural, Planning, Procurement, and Site Execution teams.

* Provide technical guidance to drafting teams and junior engineers.

* Support site teams during formwork erection, concreting, stripping, and troubleshooting.

* Ensure all formwork designs comply with project specifications, IS Codes, safety standards, and construction

best practices.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Strong experience in different Conventional Formwork Design

• Hands-on experience in Load Calculations

• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD

• Prior work experience in Building Construction projects

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (mandatory) & Master’s degree in Structural Engineering

preferred.

* 2+ years of experience in formwork design.

* Strong experience in Conventional Formwork Design (Plywood, Timber, H-Beam, Steel Soldiers, Adjustable

Props, Cuplock/Scaffolding, etc.).

* Strong experience in Aluminium Formwork Design (Mivan or equivalent systems).

* Experience in preparation and checking of shell plans, layout drawings, mockups, and GA drawings.

* Experience in quantity estimation and optimization for both conventional and aluminium formwork.

* Handson experience of formwork load calculations and structural stability checks.

* Sound knowledge of RCC drawings, structural detailing, and construction sequencing.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant formwork design software.

* Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
