About The Job:
- Experience :- 8+ Year relevant in CMDB, Discovery Management & Service Mapping)
- Shift Timing : 06:30 PM to 03:30 AM IST (US – EST Coverage)
- The Configuration, Discovery & Service Mapping Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing the ServiceNow CMDB ecosystem. The role ensures accurate configuration data, reliable discovery processes, and end to end service mapping to support IT operations, governance, and automation initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
- ServiceNow CMDB & Service Mapping — Implement and maintain ServiceNow Service Mapping, CI relationships, and service models.
- CMDB Discovery Management — Manage Discovery schedules, patterns, credentials, and integrations to ensure accurate CI population.
- Service Mapping — build and maintain Top-down service mapping, tag based service mapping, CMDB groups.
- CI Class & Hierarchy Management — Maintain CI class structures, relationships, and taxonomy across the CMDB.
- Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) — Configure and optimize IRE rules to ensure clean, conflict free CI records.
- CMDB Data Modeling — Design and enhance CMDB schema, CI attributes, and relationship models.
- CI Lifecycle Management — Oversee CI onboarding, updates, retirement, and compliance with lifecycle policies.
- CMDB Health & Governance — Monitor and improve CMDB health metrics (completeness, correctness, compliance).
- Data Normalization & Deduplication — Implement normalization rules, deduplication logic, and data quality controls.
- Integrations & Service Graph Connectors — Manage integrations that enrich CMDB data from external systems.
Qualifications:
Must Have Skills
- ServiceNow CMDB Expertise — Strong hands on experience with CMDB design, CI classes, and relationship moClienting.
- Service Mapping — Ability to build and maintain application and infrastructure service maps.
- Discovery & Integrations — Deep understanding of Discovery patterns, probes, sensors, and Service Graph Connectors.
- Cloud Discovery — AWS, Azure, or GCP discovery and service mapping.
- IRE Configuration — Experience configuring Identification & Reconciliation rules.
- CMDB Health Management — Ability to drive completeness, correctness, and compliance improvements.
- Data Quality Management — Strong skills in normalization, deduplication, and CI data governance.
- Analytical & Documentation Skills — Ability to document models, processes, and data flows clearly.
- ServiceNow Scripting — JavaScript, Glide API, or Flow Designer for automation.
Good to Have Skills
- ITOM Modules — Familiarity with Event Management, Health Log Analytics, or AIOps.
- ITIL Knowledge — Understanding of ITIL processes related to CMDB and configuration management.
- 8+ years of hands on experience in ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, & Service Mapping roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
