Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Kaseya is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for Kaseya's enterprise software platforms. This role will shape architecture, guide long-term technical strategy, and influence engineering execution across complex, high-scale SaaS and platform systems. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced technical leader who can solve ambiguous, business-critical engineering challenges while mentoring senior engineers and driving technical excellence across teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture for Kaseya's enterprise software platforms, core product capabilities, and related integrations across the IT Complete portfolio.
• Lead the design of secure, scalable, reliable, and performant software systems across AWS-hosted, data center-hosted, and hybrid environments.
• Serve as a technical authority for complex engineering initiatives involving SaaS platforms, installable agents, distributed systems, large-scale data collection, and enterprise product capabilities.
• Partner with engineering leadership, product management, architects, and cross-functional teams to shape technical strategy, product direction, and roadmap execution.
• Establish engineering standards for architecture, code quality, security, reliability, observability, automation, and operational excellence.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Staff engineers, providing technical guidance, design review, architecture review, and leadership on critical initiatives.
• Identify and resolve systemic technical challenges, architectural gaps, platform risks, and opportunities for modernization.
• Communicate complex technical strategies, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to executive, technical, and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience with SaaS platforms, distributed systems, installable agents, enterprise platforms, or large-scale data collection.
• Proven experience serving as a technical leader across multiple teams, products, or major platform initiatives.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, system design, application security, scalability, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Hands-on experience reviewing architecture, design, and code for complex enterprise-scale software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms, IT management platforms, cybersecurity software, distributed systems, or large-scale enterprise software.
• Experience with technologies such as Java, C#, .NET, MySQL, SQL, AWS, and enterprise-scale SaaS platforms.
• Experience modernizing legacy platforms, integrating acquired products, or aligning multiple products into a broader platform strategy.
• Strong understanding of agent-based software, SaaS platform security, distributed data collection, and enterprise-scale platform architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across engineering, product, operations, support, and executive stakeholders.
• Track record of mentoring senior technical talent and raising engineering standards across an organization.
• Ability to balance long-term architecture strategy with urgent business and customer delivery needs.
