Job Purpose: Lead - MEPF & IT is responsible for leading the MEPF and IT departments to achieve the organization's CAPEX goals. This role involves managing multiple projects, creating detailed specifications, and driving innovation with advanced technologies. The Lead - MEPF & IT oversees system repairs and retrofitting, understands various technical indices, and allocates work effectively. Additionally, this role identifies future opportunities, ensures alignment with organizational goals, manages budgets and resources, builds strong stakeholder relationships, ensures regulatory compliance, and monitors departmental performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Education Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

Master's degree in any of the related disciplines is preferred

Work Experience:

20+ years of experience in MEPF & IT/ICT design, with at least 10 years in a leadership role overseeing airport development projects.

Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng)/LEED Accreditation/Project Management Certification are preferred.

Concept Design Development and Oversight:

Manage and oversee the entire MEPF and IT design process during concept and scheme design stages to minimize changes in later stages. Actively participate in management meetings, contributing to strategic discussions and decision-making processes to align designs with overall project objectives.

Identify suitable vendors for specific requirements and possess commendable multidisciplinary knowledge (architectural, MEPF, Structural, IT/ICT, facade, etc.).

Stay proficient with codal requirements and updated on the latest amendments in codes, with expertise in designing complex and technologically advanced systems.

Review MEPF & IT Drawings and Plans:

Propose innovative solutions to overcome design challenges and enhance system integrity.Oversee issuance of final drawings for construction (GFC) after extensive reviews, ensuring alignment between the design brief and project execution.

Project Management:

Control project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, to ensure timely completion of MEPF and IT/ICT components for both Brownfield and Greenfield projects. Track project progress against the schedule, making adjustments as needed to address delays or issues. Possess effective communication skills.

Budget Management:

Control the budget and achieve the allotted CAPEX for MEPF and IT/ICT projects, ensuring that all activities are completed within financial constraints while maximizing value. Assist in tracking project expenditures and ensuring efficient resource allocation.

Value Engineering Integration:

Identify hurdles in implementing value engineering principles and resolve them to utilize cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Convert risk into opportunity, classify risk categories (low/medium/high), and manage effectively to reduce high risks to low/medium. Foresee and avoid escalating any low/medium risks to high category.

Conduct Feasibility Studies:

Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of MEPF and IT design and planning projects, focusing on technical specifications, cost implications, and potential risks. Review the results of feasibility studies to refine project plans and ensure they are financially and operationally feasible, aligning with long-term development goals.

Implementing Standard Drawings and Specifications:

Actively participate in implementing standardized drawings and specifications across all projects. Have the capability to shortlist items identified by team members.

Complex Site Issues:

Resolve long-pending issues related to construction/repair/retrofitting. Handle concerns raised by industrial experts/government authorities effectively.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

Work with external stakeholders, including government authorities and vendors, to facilitate approvals, manage procurement processes, and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations. Oversee and collaborate with external consultants to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure smooth integration and execution of MEPF and IT designs on site, addressing any coordination issues promptly.

Industry Awareness and Innovation:

Stay updated with the latest advancements in materials, technologies, and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain excellence in MEPF and IT practices. Oversee the creation of innovative design concepts by integrating sustainable and modern design principles that improve the overall functionality and efficiency of the systems.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor a team of MEPF and IT professionals, providing them with guidance and support. Identify training needs and focus on skill development to enhance team effectiveness and foster an innovative work environment.
