Private Cloud Lead Engineer I (Windows)

Required

Experience of hosting web applications across a variety of Microsoft products

A good understanding of Microsoft technologies. Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, SQL

Demonstratable knowledge in architecting and managing production environments across Physical, Virtualised and Cloud technologies

Experience configuring and troubleshooting high availability solutions, Microsoft Windows and SQL Clustering and load-balanced Web Farms

A solid understanding of Enterprise class Networking (firewalls, load balancers, subnets, routing, ACLs), Virtualisation (VMware, HyperV, OpenStack etc) and Storage technologies (SAN, DAS, RAID etc)

Industry qualifications desirable

Deep knowledge and experience of Windows and SQL Clustering

Understanding of Linux Kernel or related operating systems highly beneficial

DevOps methodologies; demonstrable ability to write and troubleshoot code in one or more of common languages such as .NET, C#, F#, VisualBasic, or PowerShell

Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell or other versatile scripting language is desirable

Ability to work with configurations management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt

Working knowledge of common hosted web and database technologies

Understanding of agile software development methodologies and languages

Knowledge of infrastructure as code - heat, cloud formation, terraform etc.

Autoscaling knowledge

Experience in monitoring (Graphite, Logstash, Zabbix, Nagios, SCCM, SolarWinds, Sensu etc.)

Exposure and skill in one or more public cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
