Advanced proficiency in BTE (1120) and/or AMP (1065 and other modules)
Ability to facilitate and review the optimization and standardization of BTE or AMP, including complex entity structures
Advanced proficiency in GoRS, OIT, and KPMG tax technology tools.
Thorough understanding of firm's Technology and processes around tax compliance and research, and ability to advise and guide team members on technology tools and process
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel required. Familiarity with Alteryx, PowerPoint, Visio or process mapping software desired
Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and experience with MS Office applications and third-party tax reporting software programs
Strong project management and analytical skills, with the ability to lead teams in meeting deliverables, manage high-volume work, interpret tax return trackers, oversee multiple engagements, and deliver well-reasoned recommendations to leadership, engagement teams, and clients.
Strong tax technical skills in 1 or 2 of the following areas: Subchapter C, Consolidated Returns, Partnerships and LLCs, Tax Accounting Methods and Periods, ASC 740, IRS Practice and Procedure
Active participation in industry, service line, and technical networks to share insights and provide thought leadership, while collaborating across teams to identify new compliance opportunities and support the growth and integration of the KPMG tax practice.
Strong communicator with excellent research and advisory skills; able to clearly explain complex tax matters and work effectively both independently and in teams.
Proven ability to coach, develop, recruit, and manage staff; lead projects of all sizes; juggle multiple deadlines; and manage client relationships from start to finish.
Trusted engagement lead with a track record of building strong client relationships, clearly communicating complex tax issues, and delivering timely, accurate work within budget.
Actively leads and contributes to trainings, mentoring, technical development, and recruiting efforts; open to moderate travel, including international rotations.
Understanding and achievement of key metrics (utilization, quality and other as applicable), ability to assist other team members to identify ways to help them meet their metrics.
Completes Expectation Setting, Interim Reviews and Year-End Reviews on a timely basis. Provides engagement and performance development feedback to junior team members and PML counselees on a timely basis. Compliant with required PML training.
Supports engagement teams in managing client contracts and budgets, while navigating risk protocols involving OGC, Risk Management-Tax, DPP Independence, and WNT.
Demonstrates effective understanding of the firm's tools and processes for managing risk (e.g. CLEAS, Sentinel, RTS, and other related tools)
Demonstrates understanding and appropriate application of Circular 230, Tax Shelter and Reportable Transactions Rules and the Deferred Prosecution Agreement, including elevated and covered opinion standards
Compliant with KPMG Code of Conduct, AICPA and state ethics rules, independence rules, and all other applicable firm policies and professional practice standards
