We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in mechanical design and product development, with hands-on experience using SolidWorks to design, validate, and optimize mechanical systems and components. Candidates with prior exposure to the defense industry and an understanding of high-reliability engineering standards will be highly preferred.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative mechanical solutions, support prototype development, and ensure products meet stringent quality, performance, and manufacturability requirements. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for engineering excellence.

Immediate joiners are preferred. Candidates must be available to attend a Face-to-Face interview as part of the selection process.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
  • Prepare detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform mechanical design calculations, tolerance analysis, and component selection.
  • Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop innovative design solutions while ensuring compliance with industry and organizational standards.
  • Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design improvements based on test results.
  • Evaluate product performance and recommend modifications to improve efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Apply engineering principles related to structural analysis, thermal performance, and material selection.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and root cause analysis for engineering issues.
  • Ensure designs are optimized for production, cost, durability, and maintainability.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control throughout project execution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for design methodologies and engineering processes.

Required Skills

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong experience in Mechanical Design for complex mechanical systems and assemblies.
  • Hands-on expertise with SolidWorks for part modeling, assemblies, sheet metal, and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Experience working in the Defense industry or on defense-related products with exposure to quality and reliability standards.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of material properties, fabrication techniques, machining, and assembly practices.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in 3D Modeling and advanced CAD methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Heat Transfer principles and thermal analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Strength of Materials (SOM) and mechanical stress analysis.
  • Familiarity with prototype development, testing, and validation processes.
  • Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and documentation standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-7 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, heavy engineering, or other high-precision manufacturing environments will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
