Position Summary
\nWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Mechanical Design & Development) to lead the successful execution of mechanical engineering projects from concept through design release. This role is ideal for a senior mechanical engineer with extensive experience in industrial machinery, product development, and cross-functional engineering coordination.
\nThe Project Manager will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, including machine design, product development, CAD deliverables, engineering documentation, project planning, customer coordination, and technical leadership. The role combines strong engineering expertise with project management responsibilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest engineering standards.
\nKey Responsibilities:-
\nProject Management:
\n• Lead multiple mechanical engineering and product development projects from concept through design release.
\n• Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocations.
\n• Monitor project progress and proactively manage scope, timelines, risks, and budgets.
\n• Coordinate project activities across mechanical, mechatronics, manufacturing, and documentation teams. • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
\n• Conduct regular project review meetings and provide progress reports to management and clients.
\n• Manage engineering change requests and ensure proper revision control throughout the project.
\nTechnical Leadership:
\n• Lead the design and development of industrial machines, equipment, and mechanical systems.
\n• Review and approve mechanical designs, CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. • Guide engineering decisions related to machine architecture, mechanisms, structural design, drive systems, manufacturability, and serviceability.
\n• Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable standards, specifications, and customer requirements. • Mentor and provide technical guidance to mechanical design engineers and CAD engineers.
\n• Drive engineering best practices, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
\nMechanical Engineering:
\n• Oversee mechanical engineering activities including:
\n• Support prototype development and engineering validation activities.
\n• Coordinate design verification, engineering calculations, and technical reviews.
\nCross-Functional Coordination:
\n• Work closely with mechatronics, electrical, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to ensure successful product integration.
\n• Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and manufacturing partners on technical matters.
\n• Ensure seamless integration between mechanical and non-mechanical subsystems throughout product development.
\nDocumentation & Quality:
\n• Ensure complete and accurate engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
\n• Review engineering drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, and release packages.
\n• Support FMEA, risk assessments, validation planning, and design verification activities.
\n• Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with company quality procedures.
\nRequired Qualifications:-
\n• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
\n• Master's degree is preferred.
\n• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering and machine development.
\n• Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering or product development projects.
\n• Demonstrated experience designing industrial machinery, automation equipment, or custom mechanical systems.
\n• Strong knowledge of machine design principles, mechanical power transmission, structural design, manufacturing processes, and product development.
\n• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
\n• Excellent understanding of engineering documentation, BOM management, and design release processes.
\n• Strong communication, leadership, and customer management skills.
\nTechnical Skills:-
\n• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Siemens NX, or equivalent).
\n• Strong understanding of machine design and mechanical system integration.
\n• Experience with engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
\n• Familiarity with FEA principles and engineering validation methods.
\n• Experience preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
\n• Knowledge of project management methodologies and engineering change management.
