Guidewire Rating Developer

We're seeking a Guidewire Rating Developer. This role demands hands-on technical expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating, a strong understanding of P&C domain logic, and a mindset oriented toward scalable, enterprise-grade delivery. You'll work directly on large-scale client implementations, collaborating with Solution Architects, Functional Consultants, and QA teams to ensure high-quality, production-ready outcomes.

This is a remote delivery role, focused on Guidewire Cloud and On-Prem implementations across global insurance clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Guidewire Rating Engine components, primarily within PolicyCenter.

• Implement Rating Worksheets, Rate Books, Rate Tables, and Refactoring of Rating Logic per business requirements.

• Collaborate with configuration and integration teams to ensure seamless end-to-end PolicyCenter functionality.

• Review requirements and design artifacts to translate them into optimized Rating configurations and custom Gosu logic.

• Work closely with the Technical Lead and Solution Architect to ensure compliance with BlitzenX's delivery standards and best practices.

• Conduct detailed impact analysis for new changes and recommend efficient solutions.

• Perform unit testing and peer code reviews to maintain development quality benchmarks.

• Troubleshoot rating discrepancies and support Rate Testing Accelerators for Actuarial validation.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies - Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, and Retrospectives - driving accountability and throughput.

• Contribute to reusable Rating accelerators and utilities within BlitzenX's AscendCloudTM and PoliqsTM ecosystems.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating, preferably on GW 10+ / Cloud versions.

• Proficiency in Gosu scripting and XML configuration.

• Deep understanding of Rate Books, Rate Routines, Rate Steps, and Data Model customization.

• Familiarity with Product Model and Policy Transactions.

• Experience with Rating testing, debug tools, and Guidewire Studio.

• Exposure to Guidewire Integration components (GOSU Plugins, Messaging, SOAP/REST APIs) preferred.

• Strong understanding of P&C Insurance domain - Auto, Homeowners, Workers Comp, etc.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD pipelines for Guidewire Cloud deployments.

• Guidewire PolicyCenter Specialist / Developer Certification

• Guidewire Rating or Product Model Certification

• Any Guidewire Cloud Certification
