What You'll Be Doing

Build a high-performing team where engineers can do their best work

-Coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent through regular feedback, performance management, and career growth planning, while helping scale the team as needed.

-Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and translate needs into scalable technical solutions and platform capabilities.

-Establish and continually improve team processes to enable iterative delivery, innovation, and high reliability

-Drive near- and long-term improvements to engineering-wide activities such as development practices, hiring / onboarding, team cohesion, and incident response

-Resolve systemic obstacles to team health, system performance, and team delivery

-Embrace and extend a culture of transparency, safety, and growth.

Desired Traits

Management & Leadership Experience

  • 12-15 years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years in an engineering management role.
  • Experience managing technical teams of 5-8 engineers with demonstrated ability to scale teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning and execution, including scope definition, prioritization, risk management, and delivery tracking across multiple work streams.
  • Strong ability to manage cross-functional dependencies and drive alignment across engineering and product teams while leading delivery using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), including sprint planning, milestone management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Track record of building high-performing teams and developing engineering talent
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities while ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and long-term platform scalability.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong working experience in platform and API development using Node.js and GraphQL, frontend enablement using React and TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native services on AWS, with an understanding of scalability, security, and cost optimization.
  • Ability to remain sufficiently hands-on to review technical designs, guide complex implementations, and unblock teams when required.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
  • Demonstrated technical judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed trade-offs.
