Business Analyst – Capital Markets (SQL)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail oriented Business Analyst with strong Capital Markets domain knowledge and SQL expertise to support business stakeholders through data driven analysis. The role involves understanding trading, investment, or post trade workflows, translating business requirements into analytical solutions, and delivering insights through SQL based reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Capital Markets processes such as trading, risk, settlements, clearing, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting
• Work closely with front office, middle office, back office, operations, and technology teams
• Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents
• Support UAT planning and execution, including test case preparation and defect management
Capital Markets Domain
• Analyze datasets related to equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, or commodities
• Understand lifecycle of financial instruments from trade execution to settlement
• Support market data, reference data, and pricing data analysis
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements (e.g., reconciliation, audit support)
Data & SQL Analysis
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze large datasets
• Perform data profiling, data quality checks, and root cause analysis
• Build reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analytics to support business decision making
• Collaborate with data engineers and developers to validate data logic and transformations
Stakeholder Communication
• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams
• Present insights, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
• Support change management and ensure business alignment with delivered solutions

Required Skills
Technical Skills
• Strong SQL (joins, subqueries, CTEs, performance tuning)
• Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.)
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau – preferred)
• Understanding of SDLC / Agile methodologies
Domain Skills
• Solid knowledge of Capital Markets concepts and workflows
• Understanding of trade lifecycle, pricing, risk, and settlement processes
• Experience working in BFSI / Investment Banking / Asset Management environments |
