About The Job:
- We are seeking an experienced Azure SQL DBA to manage, maintain, optimize, and secure Azure-based database environments. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instance, SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security implementation, and high availability solutions.
- Administer and support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server databases.
- Perform database installation, configuration, migration, upgrades, and patching activities.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Implement and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Configure and manage database backups, restore strategies, and recovery processes.
- Perform capacity planning, storage management, and database optimization.
- Implement database security, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor Azure SQL resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot database connectivity, replication, failover, and performance-related issues.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation scripts.
- Collaborate with application teams for database design reviews and production deployments.
- Support cloud migration projects involving SQL Server to Azure SQL platforms.
- Ensure database environments meet SLA, security, and governance standards.
- E2 – 5 to 8 years
- E3 – 9 to 12 years
- Strong experience in Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server.

Knowledge of database migration tools:
- Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)
- Data Migration Assistant (DMA)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates, Terraform) is preferred.
- Understanding of Azure networking concepts such as VNets, Private Endpoints, NSGs, and Firewall Rules.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Azure governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SCOM, SolarWinds, Redgate, or Dynatrace.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise database environments.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization capabilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment and handle critical incidents.
