Job Description

Sales Executive will drive business development for Satchmo Foods within an assigned territory by generating new leads, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, coordinating order execution with internal teams, and consistently achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets. The role requires regular field visits, hands-on customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Business Development

  • Identify and approach potential customers — retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and HORECA (Hotel/Restaurant/Catering) outlets — within the assigned territory.
  • \n
  • Generate new sales leads through market surveys, cold calls, referrals, and field intelligence.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective customers to support sustained business growth.
  • \n

2. Market Visits & Relationship Management

  • Conduct regular field/market visits as per an agreed beat plan or journey cycle.
  • \n
  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with existing retailers, distributors, and key accounts.
  • \n
  • Address customer queries, complaints, and service issues promptly and professionally.
  • \n
\n

3. Product Promotion & Customer Engagement

  • Share product samples, brochures, catalogues, and pricing details with prospective and existing customers.
  • \n
  • Clearly communicate product features, shelf life, packaging, and pricing to support purchase decisions.
  • \n
  • Support the rollout of new products and seasonal/promotional schemes at the retail level.
  • \n

4. Order Coordination & Execution

  • Capture customer orders accurately and coordinate with internal teams (production, dispatch, logistics, accounts) for timely and accurate order fulfillment.

  • Track order status and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.
  • \n
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collections as per credit policy.
  • \n

5. Sales Target Achievement

  • Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and value targets.
  • \n
  • Plan and execute territory-level sales strategies to expand market reach and improve secondary sales.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within the existing customer base.
  • \n
\n

6. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Collect and report market feedback, customer preferences, and competitor activity (pricing, schemes, new launches).
  • \n
  • Provide actionable insights to the sales/marketing team to support planning and decision-making.
  • \n
  • Maintain daily call reports, sales reports, and expense statements; update CRM or sales tracking tools as required.
  • \n

7. Merchandising & Brand Visibility

  • Ensure proper product display, shelf placement, and branding at retail outlets.
  • \n
  • Support execution of in-store promotional and visibility activities.
  • \n
