Technology Scouting - Process Engineer

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Process Engineer - Scientific Intelligence & Technology Assessment with 5+ years to support the identification, evaluation, and monitoring of emerging technologies that can contribute to the development of Net Zero Emissions Plants (NZEP) and industrial decarbonization.

The role combines process engineering, technology intelligence, research, digital tools, and critical technical assessment. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuously scanning global technology developments, automating technology research workflows, evaluating technology maturity and credibility, and providing insights on innovative solutions related to decarbonization and energy transition.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong process engineering background with the ability to critically assess technology claims, differentiate between competing technologies, and identify solutions that are technically viable and relevant to business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Technology Intelligence

• Monitor and identify emerging technologies, startups, licensors, research institutions, and industrial developments relevant to decarbonization and energy transition.
• Conduct technology scouting using advanced search tools, AI agents, databases, patents, technical publications, and industry reports.
• Develop automated workflows to improve technology, intelligence gathering and knowledge management.
• Track and maintain a database of relevant technologies, companies, and innovation trends.

Technology Assessment & Screening

• Evaluate technical viability, maturity, scalability, and commercial readiness of emerging technologies.
• Analyze publicly available technical information and identify gaps, risks, and unrealistic performance claims.
• Perform critical assessments of technology providers ranging from major licensors to early-stage startups.
• Compare technologies and identify those with potential applicability to industrial decarbonization challenges.

Decarbonization & Energy Transition Technologies

Evaluate technologies related to:

• Low-Carbon Fuels
  • Hydrogen
  • Ammonia
  • Ethanol
