About The Job:
- The client is looking for a seasoned Employee Relations professional with deep expertise in Labour Laws and Labour Compliance to support the COE Senior Legal Counsel (Legal & Compliance) in overseeing the COE’s adherence to local laws and regulations, handling employee relations matters in partnership with the People team, implementing Compliance & Ethics program initiatives at the COE, and providing support in policy drafting and reviews.
Essential Job Functions:
- Together with the Senior Legal Counsel, Legal & Compliance and India People Lead, lead the employee relations activities.
Employee Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact to receive all Employee Relation Matters reported within the India COE.
- Handle employee grievances and take end-to-end ownership of conducting due diligence on matters received, reporting and summarizing issues, recommending corrective actions, and tracking them to closure.
- Maintain a comprehensive dashboard to ensure visibility of all reported issues.
- Share quarterly dashboards and lead organization-wide initiatives to drive corrective actions.
Labour Law Compliance
- Lead all statutory (non-payroll related) compliances.

Monitor and supervise compliance filings managed by external consultants and ensure the company complies with regulatory requirements including:
- Shops and Establishments Act
- CLRA
- Minimum Wages
- EPF
- Gratuity
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation (e.g., Menstrual Leave and New Labour Codes) and program manage them to closure.

Together with the Senior Legal Counsel, Legal & Compliance and India People Lead, lead and own policies mandated by the Shops and Establishment Act, Contract Labour Regulation Act, and workplace requirements including:
- Contingent Worker Policy
- Working in Shifts / On-Call Policy
- Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy
- Creche / Day Care Policy
- Support internal and external compliance audits.
Governance & Risk Management
- Track and report Compliance KPIs with BH Compliance teams.
- Drive compliance relating to timely completion of compliance training and track training issues.
- Drive rigor around Ethics Ambassadors, Prevention of Sexual Harassment Committee, and Global Ethics Day initiatives.
- Track, analyze, and report data on PIPs, successful and unsuccessful cases, and probation non-confirmation cases.
- Maintain a repository of relevant documents and ensure appropriate procedures and controls are followed.
- Conduct onboarding and awareness sessions for new hires on Legal and Compliance obligations.
- Drive regular policy updates and reviews with People, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure compliance with current regulations.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- *Master’s Degree (MBA in HR, Master’s in HR/IR, or equivalent) preferred and especially valuable for handling complex employee issues, investigations, and labour compliance.
Experience
- 8–10 years of experience ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including employment laws, labour laws, and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act (POSH).
- Experience advising on employee relations matters.
- Experience conducting fact-finding investigations, witness interviews, and drafting investigation memorandums.
- Experience implementing Compliance and Ethics programs.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong expertise in Labour Laws, Labour Compliance, and Employee Relations.
- Knowledge of POSH compliance and investigations.
- Experience managing statutory compliance programs.
- Experience supporting compliance audits and risk management activities.
- Ability to track, analyze, and report compliance metrics.
- Strong policy drafting, review, and governance experience.
- Ability to engage with employees and independently conduct fact-finding discussions.
Communication & Organizational Skills
- Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate complex matters to COE leadership teams.
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with India-based and international stakeholders.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across functions and geographies.
- Comfortable working with employees and leaders across all organizational levels.
