Lead I - Cloud Infrastructure Services

About The Job:

• Lead I – Cloud Infrastructure with over 6 years of experience in managing and supporting enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms.
• Expertise in provisioning, configuring, monitoring, and optimizing cloud resources, virtual machines, storage, networking, and security services to ensure high availability, scalability, and business continuity.
• Skilled in Linux/Unix and Windows server administration, infrastructure automation using Shell scripting, Terraform, and Ansible, and implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experienced in cloud migration projects, including on-premises to cloud transformations, infrastructure modernization, and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, security compliance, TLS/SSL encryption, monitoring, performance tuning, incident management, and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with application, database, network, and security teams while maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Recognized for excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills in delivering reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions.

Essential Job Functions:
Database Administration

• Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 databases on Linux/Unix/Windows platforms.
• Manage database objects (tables, indexes, views) and storage structures.
• Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Performance & Optimization

• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
• Analyze query execution plans and optimize SQL queries.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain database security policies.
• Ensure compliance with data protection standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR).

Maintenance & Support

• Apply patches and fix packs to DB2 environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Collaboration

• Work closely with application teams for schema design and data modeling.
• Support migration projects (e.g., on-prem to cloud environments).

Documentation

• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations and procedures.

Qualifications:
Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in DB2 Administration.
• Experience with DB2 Backup, Restore, and multiple data migration methods.

Key Skills

• Strong experience in Client DB2 LUW Administration.
• Proficiency in SQL, Shell Scripting, and Performance Tuning.
• Experience with High Availability setups (HADR, Q-Replication).
• Knowledge of Backup/Recovery strategies and Disaster Recovery Planning.
• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) is a plus.
• Understanding of Security and Encryption Standards.
• Excellent Problem-Solving and Communication Skills.
• Expertise in DB2 HADR Automation (TSA & Pacemaker).
• Implementing TLS Encryption Protocols to secure data-in-transit across distributed clusters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with migration projects (AIX to Linux, On-Prem to Cloud).
• Knowledge of WebSphere, Java Application Integration, and Middleware.
• Certifications in Client DB2 or Cloud Database Administration.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
