Role Overview:
As the Fullstack Engineering Lead (Python/Django + React) at ConveGenius, you will lead the development, customisation, and maintenance of the Open edX-based learning platform that serves millions of learners across India. The core tech stack is Python with Django (backend) and React (frontend). You will ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable while guiding engineering teams, managing deployments, and delivering high-quality accessible learning solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
Lead fullstack development, customisation, and maintenance of the Open edX-based platform using Python (Django) on the backend and React on the frontend, serving millions of learners across India.
Own backend development using Django and Python: models, APIs, celery tasks, middleware, and edx-platform core components.
Build and maintain React-based frontend components and UI features; customise and extend Open edX using XBlocks, plugins, and platform APIs to meet product and government requirements.
Design and maintain system architecture: APIs, microservices, and service integrations within the Open edX ecosystem.
Establish and manage DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure.
Define and enforce code quality standards, test automation, and system reliability benchmarks across the engineering team.
Lead technical teams: sprint planning, code reviews, architecture decisions, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
Manage platform deployments and cloud infrastructure: scalability planning, performance tuning, and incident response.
Integrate Open edX with identity, assessment, and AI systems including SSO, verifiable credentials, and LTI providers.
Drive platform scalability and reliability to support high-concurrency usage from learners across diverse devices and networks.
Deliver high-quality learning solutions aligned with EdTech standards: xAPI, SCORM, LTI 1.3, and accessibility requirements.

Must-have skills:
Strong experience in fullstack development with Python (Django) and React as the primary tech stack

Hands-on experience with Open edX platform implementation, customisation, and maintenance
Strong knowledge of system architecture, APIs, and microservices
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments

Knowledge of test automation, code quality, and system reliability
Experience leading technical teams and driving project delivery
Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills
Experience with scalable learning platforms and EdTech solutions is preferred

Preferred skills:
Open edX XBlocks: custom block development, plugin architecture, and platform extension patterns
LTI 1.3 and SCORM: learning tool interoperability and content packaging standards
Tutor deployment: containerised Open edX deployment and management at scale
Django at depth: ORM, middleware, REST framework, and celery task queues
Indic language content delivery: multilingual LMS configuration and Unicode handling
WCAG accessibility: implementing accessible learning interfaces for diverse learners
Cloud deployments on NIC/SDC: government infrastructure constraints and compliance
xAPI / IMS Caliper: learner analytics event standards and data streaming pipelines

Qualifications:
B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / MSc Computer Science or equivalent.
