SIAM Consultant (Change & Release Management)

Location: Bangalore / Hybrid

Experience: 5-8 years

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Change & Release Manager to lead and govern end-to-end processes across a complex enterprise IT environment. The role ensures changes and releases are planned, assessed, approved, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption and maximum stability.

The primary focus is on Change Management and Release Management. Knowledge of Capacity, Availability, and Event Management is good to have and will add value to the role. Experience in defining, adjusting, and improving processes, particularly Change is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in Change Management and Release Management
  • Good to have: Working knowledge of Capacity, Availability, and Event Management
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certification required; SIAM experience desirable
  • Experience in defining, improving, and optimizing processes (especially Change)
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow / ITSM tools in enterprise cloud & infrastructure environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
  • Governance mindset with focus on risk, control, and stability
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving process maturity
  • Continuous improvement approach with emphasis on simplification and resilience

Key Responsibilities

Change Management

  • Own and govern the end-to-end Change Management process across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and services.
  • Ensure all changes are assessed for risk, impact, dependencies, rollback plans, and business readiness.
  • Chair CAB/eCAB meetings, driving efficient approvals for standard, normal, and emergency changes.
  • Maintain change calendars, conflict detection, blackout periods, and forward schedules.
  • Monitor change success rates, failed/backed-out changes, unauthorized changes, and adherence to policy.
  • Define and improve change models, templates, workflows, and governance controls.
  • Partner with technical and business teams to reduce risk while improving delivery speed and resilience.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and embed lessons learned into continual improvement.

Release Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and govern releases across multiple technology towers and environments.
  • Ensure releases are packaged, tested, approved, communicated, and deployed in a controlled manner.
  • Maintain a release calendar aligned with business priorities, environment readiness, and governance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for release readiness, including development, testing, infrastructure, cloud, and security.
  • Ensure release plans include deployment sequencing, validation, rollback, communication, and hypercare support.
  • Drive release quality through standardized controls, readiness checkpoints, and post-release reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement of release processes through automation, standardization, and risk reduction.

Secondary/Add-on Responsibilities

  • Capacity Management: Support planning and forecasting to ensure services meet demand.
  • Availability Management: Monitor performance, resilience, and recurring risks to improve uptime.
  • Event Management: Govern alert quality, correlation, and escalation paths to reduce noise and improve efficiency.
