Job Summary:

Equinox India is seeking a Team Lead Process Engineering to provide strong technical leadership to a growing execution team, while remaining actively involved in hands-on project work. This role is intended for a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer who can independently lead process scope, guide teams, interface confidently with clients, and deliver complex oil and gas projects with minimal oversight. Unlike purely managerial roles, this position requires continued direct technical contribution, ownership of deliverables, and accountability for quality, schedule, Budget and client confidence.
  • Champion quality of work and adherence to established processes.
  • Act as a direct interface with Process Engineering management in North America.
  • Lead and execute process engineering scope across project phases, including Conceptual Design, FEED, and Detailed Engineering.
  • Serve as the technical authority for assigned projects, making sound engineering decisions and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Develop, review, and approve key process engineering deliverables, including:
    • Heat and Material Balances
    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
    • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Process Design Basis / Design reports
    • Equipment and line sizing calculations
    • PSV sizing and relief system documentation
  • Perform and validate process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Honeywell UniSim, and related tools as required.
  • Lead or actively participate in P&ID reviews and HAZOP / PHA studies, with a strong focus on safety and operability.
  • Review vendor documents, datasheets, calculations, and drawings; provide technical direction and approvals.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and review support to Junior and mid-level process engineers.
  • Coordinate process engineering activities within workshare and global delivery models, ensuring clarity of scope and accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, discipline leads, vendors, and clients to maintain alignment and delivery confidence.
  • Support discipline-level planning, workload forecasting, and risk identification.
  • Serve as a key process engineering interface for clients, addressing technical queries and supporting issue resolution.
  • Maintain a professional, client-focused approach that builds trust and long-term relationships.
  • Strong expertise across oil & gas process engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of process simulations and modelling using Aspen HYSYS and/or Honeywell UniSim.
  • Deep understanding of process safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with EPCM engineering practices.
  • Proven ability to own and deliver complete process scope with minimal oversight.
  • Strong engineering judgment and decision-making capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining technical quality.
  • Experience guiding teams and reviewing work for technical accuracy.
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of accountability, professionalism, and reliability.

  • Experience working within global workshare models.
  • Prior client-facing or discipline lead responsibilities.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in oil & gas process engineering.
  • Prior experience in an EPCM environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading process engineering scopes.
  • Experience leading teams of people with diverse backgrounds.
  • Prior workshare experiences.
