Manager (Solution Delivery) - Enterprise AI Programme
Why we're hiring:
WPP is building a portfolio of team- and workflow-level solutions that change how our people work: automations and agents built for a whole team or a whole process.
Demand is running well ahead of our capacity to deliver. One function alone generated 42 candidate use cases in a single discovery cycle, ranked and ready to build. This role owns turning that pipeline into working, adopted solutions - at pace, at volume, and at sensible cost for a global business (2000+ entities, 100k+ employees).
You won't be building the solutions yourself. Our AI Centre of Excellence has engineers and delivery partners for that. You'll be the person who makes the portfolio move: shaping demand into requirements engineers can act on, business partnering with stakeholders, running the delivery, and making sure what gets built actually gets used.
What you'll be doing:
- Own a high-volume portfolio: 50+ team- and workflow-level solutions delivered end-to-end: initiation, planning, sprints, deployment, closure, with an increasing proportion built on AI and agent capabilities.
- Run multiple concurrent workstreams alongside our in-house engineers and external delivery partners, holding both to scope, quality and timeline.
- Translate business need into buildable requirements. Facilitate discovery with business teams, formalise requirements and acceptance criteria, and work with engineers to turn them into a clear, scoped solution definition.
- Run agile delivery properly - roadmap and backlog, sprints and milestones, a live RAID log, and honest reporting on throughput.
- Source and shape the pipeline from our champion network and persona workshops, and run the scored intake review that prioritises what gets built and what gets parked.
- Own delivery governance and quality: solution review gates, a Dev / UAT / Production path, user-acceptance coordination, validation of solution performance, and documentation that survives handover.
- Support adoption - onboarding, training, feedback loops, and embedding solutions into how teams actually work. Nothing we build should end up shelved.
- Track throughput and value delivered, and keep use cases moving rather than stalling in backlog.
What you'll need:
- 8+ years as a delivery or project manager on technology programmes - IT, data, integration, automation or platform work with a track record of running several projects concurrently under one portfolio.
- Technical fluency, not technical delivery. You've spent your career close enough to engineering teams to challenge an estimate, question a design decision, spot when a requirement is unbuildable as written, and explain a technical trade-off to a business sponsor. You don't need to write code; you do need to know what's being built and why.
- Strong requirements skills - you can take a vague business ask and turn it into something an engineer can scope and build, with clear acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem - Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and ideally Copilot Studio or the M365 Agent Toolkit. Breadth across enterprise platforms matters more to us than depth in a single tool.
- Working understanding of AI and generative-AI concepts and the delivery lifecycle around them - enough to hold a real conversation with engineers, and the appetite to go considerably deeper. We will invest in getting you there.
- Experience managing external delivery partners and a large number of small-to-mid builds simultaneously, with strong engagement skills across senior business stakeholders.
- Agile / Kanban delivery with Jira or Azure DevOps; a working grasp of governance, security, privacy and compliance considerations in enterprise deployments.
- Based in India (Chennai), working with global colleagues across UK and US time zones.
