Job Purpose:

The Civil Design Lead is responsible for leading the civil design efforts for water infrastructure projects, ensuring designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external consultants to deliver integrated, efficient, and cost-effective design solutions.

Education Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech (Civil)

Work Experience (Range of years):

15+ years of relevant experience

Design Leadership and Technical Oversight:

Lead the civil design team in developing detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for water projects, including desalination plants, water treatment facilities, and pipelines

Provide technical expertise in civil engineering aspects such as site development, structural design, and hydrology

Review and approve all design deliverables, ensuring they meet project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance

Project Coordination and Collaboration:

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, environmental) to ensure seamless integration of civil design with other project components

Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as project managers, construction teams, and procurement to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines

Facilitate communication between design and execution teams, addressing any design-related issues during construction

Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Risk Management:

Ensure all civil designs comply with local, state, and national regulations, including environmental and safety standards

Conduct design reviews and implement value engineering to optimize solutions and reduce costs while maintaining quality

Identify potential design risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project delivery

Coordination with External Design Consultants:

Engage and manage external design consultants to ensure their deliverables align with project specifications and timelines

Review and integrate designs provided by external consultants, ensuring they meet the required standards and project objectives

Coordinate regular meetings with external consultants to address design issues, clarify requirements, and ensure smooth collaboration

Ensure that all external design work is in compliance with contractual obligations and project-specific requirements
