Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented App Packaging Consultant to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, testing, and deploying application packages for enterprise environments using tools like SCCM, App-V, and MSI. This role requires strong scripting skills, a deep understanding of Windows operating systems, and experience with software deployment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analyze application requirements and determine packaging strategy.
· Create application packages in MSI, App-V, or other formats.
· Perform application compatibility testing and remediation.
· Collaborate with application owners and vendors to gather packaging requirements.
· Maintain and update packages using Configuration Manager (SCCM).
· Troubleshooting packaging and deployment issues.
· Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
· Provide third-level support for application deployment issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in application packaging and deployment.
· Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and VBScript.
· Experience with SCCM, App-V, ThinApp, and MSI packaging tools.
· Strong understanding of Windows OS and registry settings.
· Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· ITIL certification or similar is a plus.
Preferred Certifications:
· Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
· ITIL Foundation
· CISSP or equivalent (for security-focused environments)
