Detailed JD (Roles and Responsibilities)

•Accountable for provision and availability of a logical end-to-end test environment.

•This is not an infrastructure role and no test environment instances will be owned by the programme. Instead, the individual applications that make up the IT solution (and hence the E2E test environment requirement) will have established test environment capacity and capability. The E2E Environment Manager will provision either dedicated or shared instances of these local environments and combine them into the programmes E2E environment.

•Ownership of policies and procedures to manage the test environments

•Capture the test environment requirements and to coordinate the delivery and management of them from the local teams.

•Experience controlling test environments and configuration management. Responsible for End 2End configuration management within the supported environments.

•To be able to work closely with QA to ascertain the test environment requirements in terms of timescales, applications required to make up any E2E environments and the connectivity between them.

•To put in place a multi-dimensional booking system. To manage conflicts between resources and teams.

•Work to use the limited test resources to leverage environment cohabitation and sharing of environments at both the end-to-end and application level

•To manage the day to day running of the environments. Coordination of batch schedules in an E2E environment.

•Put in place daily environment sanity checks and monitoring

•To troubleshoot issues with the environment, coordination with infrastructure and DBAs for RCAs and mitigations

•To work with the Release Managers and DevOps to coordinate pipelines for implementations into the environments

•Ability to collaborate with peers and to work cross-functionally with testing personnel in other software teams in multiple locations, as well as with developers, architects and product managers

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting data to cross-functional teams and/or management

•Minimum of 5 years in IT, Minimum of 1 years of Test Environment Management
