Job Title: AKS DevOps Engineer
Position Overview:
As part of the Azure transformation program, the Private Cloud Operations department is preparing to
provide operational support for several key components of the platform. As an AKS DevSecOps Engineer
within the new Public Cloud Operations team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Azure
Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
This role is essential to ensure the stability, performance, and security of our containerized solutions,
deployed by multiple teams in various environments. You will work closely with platform architects, the
Public Cloud CCoE, CI/CD teams, middleware, and application teams to maintain a robust and scalable
AKS infrastructure.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provisioning and Configuration
You provision and configure AKS clusters, including networking, node pools, and integration with Azure
services.
You deploy and manage Service Mesh solutions while enabling control plane metrics for observability and traffic management. You implement and maintain security policies and access control (RBAC) using Azure RBAC and Kubernetes RBAC, with regular security testing. You support application deployment and testing, including load testing, namespace configuration, and CI/CD integration. You automate infrastructure and ensure compliance through Infrastructure as Code and operational standards. Operations and Support You manage and optimize AKS cluster resources, identities, and certificates to ensure secure and efficient operations. You monitor service levels, regional quotas, and cluster-specific limits to guarantee availability and anticipate scaling needs. You perform regular updates on AKS clusters and apply security patches. You implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect workloads and ensure business continuity. You provide operational support, including network management, creating tickets with Microsoft support, and assisting end users. You document and share lessons learned for continuous improvement. On-call Service You monitor and optimize costs related to shared AKS clusters. Security and compliance You maintain and strengthen the security posture of AKS clusters by identifying vulnerabilities, hardening configurations, and applying best practices. You ensure compliance with policies through their application and remediation using Azure Policy and native Kubernetes tools. You leverage recommendations from Azure Advisor and Microsoft Defender for Cloud to improve security, reliability, and operational excellence. Preferred skills: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Solid experience in operational analysis within complex IT environments.
