About The Job:

• Client's Digital Enablement and Care team is looking for a Developmental Editor based in client's location to help shape the quality and effectiveness of customer content on helpx.adobe.com.
• In this role, you'll partner with writers to improve the clarity, consistency, and usability of content while helping evolve editorial practices for an AI-assisted future. You'll provide developmental editing, strengthen editorial standards, and help writers adopt new tools and workflows that improve both quality and efficiency.
• You'll work closely with writers, content strategists, UX designers, product managers, data analysts, and engineering teams to create content experiences that help customers accomplish their goals faster.
• We're looking for an experienced developmental editor who enjoys coaching writers, improving content quality, and solving customer problems.
• You bring strong editorial judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others produce their best work. You're comfortable using data to inform decisions, curious about generative AI, and excited to explore new ways of creating and improving content.

Essential Job Functions:

• Your primary goal is to help the global team of writers create content that is clear, accurate, easy to use, and easy to find.
• Provide developmental editing that improves content structure, clarity, tone, usability, accessibility, and localization readiness.
• Partner with writers to develop a consistent voice and writing style across Adobe Help content.
• Recommend improvements to the organization, presentation, and visual design of Help articles.
• Use customer insights, search trends, analytics, and content performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coach writers through thoughtful feedback, mentoring, and learning opportunities that strengthen editorial skills.
• Build strong working relationships with writers, content leads, and cross-functional partners.
• Maintain and evolve editorial standards, style guides, terminology, and writing resources.
• Help writers use generative AI effectively by developing prompts, testing AI-assisted workflows, and sharing best practices for responsible AI use.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve content quality, content effectiveness, and scalable editorial practices across Adobe.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Communications, Instructional Design, Technical Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in developmental editing, UX writing, content strategy, technical writing, or digital content.
• Experience coaching writers and helping teams produce high-quality customer content.
• Excellent editing, proofreading, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of voice, tone, readability, accessibility, and inclusive writing.
• Experience creating or maintaining editorial standards and style guides.
• Experience using customer insights or content performance data to improve content decisions.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and an interest in applying them responsibly to content creation and editorial workflows.
• Experience writing or reviewing prompts for AI-assisted content creation is a plus.
• Familiarity with SEO and digital content best practices.
• Curiosity about technology and a willingness to learn new tools and ways of working.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
