Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction and infrastructure projects.
- Perform cost estimation, budgeting, and cost planning during pre-construction and execution phases.
- Apply International Rules of Measurement (IRM) standards for quantity surveying and measurement.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed estimates.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support tender preparation, bid evaluations, and commercial analysis.
- Coordinate with engineering, design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure cost accuracy.
- Prepare cost reports, valuations, and financial progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
- Contribute to cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Quantity Surveying principles and construction cost management.
- Hands-on experience with CostX software.
- Good understanding of International Rules of Measurement (IRM), including:
- SMM7 (Standard Method of Measurement 7)
- NRM (New Rules of Measurement)
- POMI (Principles of Measurement International)
- CESMM (Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement)
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, contracts, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other estimation tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on international construction or infrastructure projects.
- Exposure to pre-construction BOQ preparation.
- Knowledge of cost planning, tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with digital construction tools and data-driven project management practices.
