About the Role

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of large projects, considering budget, timelines, resources, and task management. The Senior Project Manager communicates in a transparent and timely manner with assigned Signant Health clients and internal stakeholders, manages project risks, and ensures timely resolution while reporting on project status to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.

The Senior Project Manager supports external governance and leads internal governance (providing metrics, KPIs, risks, and issues), and contributes to the implementation of company-wide process improvements to ensure effective and efficient project delivery. This role may include supervisory management of Project Managers and Associate Project Managers.

This role requires an independent, experienced, and effective leader who excels in problem-solving, can motivate a results-oriented team, and can build trust-based relationships with Signant Health's clients.

What You Will Do

  • Have knowledge and understanding of assigned client contracts, deliverables, business practices, and key performance indicators
  • Manage and lead the initial project delivery tasks, including the software development lifecycle (SDLC) of medium to complex studies
  • Manage projects in accordance with established timelines, budget, quality standards, and/or contractual requirements, and maintain the project budget
  • Collaborate with other functional areas for project delivery to ensure timelines and client expectations are met within budget
  • Ensure project systems are built and released in accordance with client expectations, including leading the project system change control process as appropriate
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks within direct reports' projects through the internal governance process
  • Handle project escalations independently, working with internal and client teams to resolve them, and escalate as appropriate in a timely manner
  • Be responsible for reporting internal project status updates
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers on assigned projects, ensuring quality of communication with the client
  • Be actively involved in process improvement activities within the Project Management functional area
  • If managing others, create a culture of process improvement focused on streamlining processes, adding value to the business, and meeting client needs
  • Manage day-to-day activities of direct reports where applicable, including personal development and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with Company procedures in support of client deliverables
  • Exemplify and adhere to the company values centered on People, Clients, and Performance
  • Lead through influence, weighing risks and making decisions that align with Signant values and strategy
  • Manage customer escalations effectively, with follow-up through to closure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and the specification and configuration of software products
  • Able to multi-task and work with multiple team members
  • Excellent time management, communication (oral and written), and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Solid MS Office Suite experience – Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint
  • Experience directing project activities and ensuring customer satisfaction while understanding and adhering to the study budget
  • Comfortable speaking in front of diverse and/or large audiences
  • Able to communicate and engage effectively with all levels of the organization, with excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Experience in a Project Management role or equivalent
  • Shows initiative and is able to work independently as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in pharmaceutical, medical education, and/or CRO
  • Experience in clinical trials, the pharmaceutical industry, or life sciences
  • Ability to travel for business trips (overnight trips could be expected quarterly)
  • Experience with, or understanding of, the clinical research environment and GCP principles
  • PMP or equivalent certification
