Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer, you will focus on building and operating containerized, cloud-native platforms using Python and Kubernetes (AKS). You will enable scalable deployment, automation, and observability for data and application workloads running on Azure, including Databricks-related services.

Key Responsibilities

Container Platform Operations

• Deploy, manage, and operate workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Support containerized applications and services in production environments
• Monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilization
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities

Automation & Development

• Develop and maintain automation tools and APIs using Python
• Build reusable scripts and frameworks for platform operations
• Integrate container workloads with CI/CD pipelines
• Implement configuration management and secrets handling

CI/CD & Containerization

• Design and improve CI/CD pipelines for container-based deployments
• Build and optimize Docker images
• Implement deployment strategies such as rolling updates and blue-green deployments
• Ensure secure image scanning and deployment practices

Observability & Reliability

• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for Kubernetes workloads
• Troubleshoot application, container, and cluster-level issues
• Improve platform reliability and scalability through automation and tuning

Collaboration & Platform Growth

• Work closely with application, data, and security teams
• Contribute to cloud-native architecture discussions
• Document operational processes and best practices

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python for automation and API development
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AKS
• Experience with Docker and container-based architectures
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor)

Good to Have

• Exposure to Databricks or data platform workloads
• Terraform or infrastructure automation experience
• Knowledge of cloud security concepts in container environments
