Position Summary

ASEAN Region is seeing a high growth for FS Business across esp. across Banking and Wealth & Asset Management clients. The region presents unique challenges with a very digital savvy but price conscious clients and a highly fragmented market with multiple small countries. Singapore is the primary target market but is surrounded by high potential emerging markets like Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam that present growth opportunities.

GDS is looking to build a dedicated team focussed on driving growth through greater integration of GDS capabilities with ASEAN region.

There is a $300M+ annual market opportunity as FS clients look to have a trusted partner that serves their needs across Business, Tech, Operations and Risk needs. The GDS ASEAN Lead shall work alongside member firms to drive growth via a) helping co-solution and close deals b) bring GDS capabilities to deliver on those deals.

Essential Functions of the job

GDS ASEAN FS Region Lead will help grow the ASEAN FS portfolio. Scope of position includes:

  • Drive increased client interactions.
  • GDS pursuit Leadership for large deals.
  • Solution, price and help close deals with region.
  • Manage and grow ASEAN GDS FS deal pipeline.
  • Run campaigns across the region and accounts.
  • Drive account strategy and participate in account planning meetings.
  • Create and execute on annual growth plan.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities


Knowledge Required Beyond the job:

  • Strong and assertive pursuit leadership with focus on shaping large
    deals.
  • Grow and sustain high-performing teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with and assemble a cross functional for a pursuit

response.

  • Paint a compelling vision of the future, leverage storytelling and rally others with passion and purpose.
  • Develop methodologies, assets, and accelerators that can be leveraged across deals.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Up to 2-3 ED and 4-5 SMs / ADs reporting into this role
  • 5 in FY27 and expected to grow to 10 in FY28 (including region sector leads, solution architects, functional leads and Account Leads)

Education & Experience

Education:

Graduate in any discipline, preferably Technology/M.Sc./Dipl.Eng/ complemented with post-diploma study in IT or MBA

Experience:

20+ Years overall, with minimum 10y+ delivery leadership

  • Has prior experience in interfacing with client leadership on large transformational and Run the Bank initiatives across FS domain.
  • Must have the ability to engage with CXOs to curate opportunities,
    lead large pursuits including proposals and RFP responses and take end- to-end ownership of deal making
  • Experience with agile, globally distributed team models
  • Strong communication skills and able to successfully articulate deep domain / technical concepts to both business and technology audience
  • 10+ years in the architect and/or lead engineer role managing,
    building, and delivering business solutions preferably in Financial Services clientele.
  • Experience in pricing large multi-geography deals including innovative pricing options.
  • Ability to articulate pros/cons of technology options based on personal experience, industry knowledge, and best practices.
