Job Title: ETL Tester
Experience Level: 4 Years
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ETL Tester with 4 years of hands-on experience in data validation, ETL processes, and backend testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of data transformations and migrations through well-structured test plans and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute ETL test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data migration and transformation projects.
Perform data validation, data integrity, and data quality checks on data extracted from various sources and loaded into data warehouses.
Validate ETL mappings, workflows, and sessions created using tools like Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
Write and execute SQL queries for backend testing, source-to-target data validation, and data profiling.
Work closely with ETL developers, data architects, and business analysts to understand requirements and ensure data accuracy.
Conduct root cause analysis of data issues and provide detailed defect documentation.
Participate in agile/scrum ceremonies and support continuous improvement in the QA process.
Collaborate with the QA lead and project teams to ensure timely delivery of test deliverables.
Required Skills:
4+ years of experience in ETL Testing and Data Warehousing projects.
Proficient in writing complex SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of ETL processes, data flows, and data transformation logic.
Experience with at least one ETL tool (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
Hands-on experience with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or Snowflake.
Familiarity with test automation and data comparison tools is a plus.
Knowledge of BI/reporting tools (like Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous.
Good understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies, especially in Agile environments.
