At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are committed as one firm to our purpose, united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE BUSINESS

The APAC Value Realization Office (VRO) supports regional transformation and technology-enabled delivery across Aon’s Risk Capital, Human Capital, and enterprise technology portfolio. The team helps convert ideas and business needs into executable, measurable, and adopted change by strengthening intake, requirements, governance, delivery readiness, adoption, and value realization discipline.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The Business Analyst (with technology analysis acumen) will support Aon APAC VRO initiatives by translating business needs into clear, value-linked requirements and practical solution designs. The role works across business, technology, product, operations, change, and delivery teams to analyse problems and opportunities, define current and future-state processes, support business cases, shape scope, validate solutions, and enable adoption across APAC markets.

This is a business-and-technology bridge role. The colleague must structure ambiguity, understand the business outcome, ask the right technical questions, and convert decisions into delivery-ready artefacts that support stage gates, steering committees, portfolio reviews, testing, deployment, and BAU transition.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (List 6-10 major responsibilities in the role):

  • Partner with sponsors, SMEs, Technology and VRO delivery leads to clarify business outcomes, pain points, constraints, dependencies, value drivers, and decision criteria.
  • Elicit, define, prioritize and manage business, functional, non-functional and data requirements, ensuring traceability from business need through solution validation and benefits realization.
  • Translate business needs into practical technical artefacts such as data mapping, integration touchpoints, business rules, user journeys, wireframes, acceptance criteria, and testable requirements.
  • Document as-is and to-be processes, identify gaps, handoffs, controls, process waste, and automation opportunities while aligning to Aon operating model and taxonomy expectations.
  • Support initiative shaping through options analysis, business case inputs, cost-benefit assumptions, KPI/benefit hypotheses, capability impacts and prioritization evidence.
  • Partner with project managers, product owners, technology teams, vendors, and SMEs to support scope definition, backlog readiness, prioritization, requirement clarifications and change control.
  • Support SIT/UAT planning, scenario definition, test script creation, defect triage, requirement coverage evidence, solution validation and deployment readiness.
  • Partner with Change Managers and business stakeholders to assess user impacts, support training/user materials, readiness, hypercare inputs and transition into BAU.
  • Produce concise, clear, and high-quality BA deliverables for stage gates, steering committees, portfolio reviews, and delivery governance.
  • Contribute to VRO BA ways of working, templates, knowledge sharing, lessons learned, AI prompt libraries and best-practice examples.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED (List 4-8 skills required to get the job done):

  • Strong requirements elicitation, prioritization and lifecycle management across business, functional, non-functional and data requirements.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into structured analysis, options, recommendations, and decision-ready artefacts.
  • Working knowledge of technology delivery concepts including integrations, APIs, data flows, SaaS platforms, workflow tools, access roles, controls, and non-functional requirements.
  • Strong process analysis capability including as-is/to-be mapping, gap analysis, process reengineering, controls, standardization, user journeys and operating model alignment.
  • Data fluency with ability to interpret datasets, question data quality, define KPIs, support Power BI/dashboard requirements and communicate insights clearly.
  • Familiarity with JIRA / Confluence or comparable agile delivery tooling for backlogs, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, traceability and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong facilitation, active listening, stakeholder influence and conflict-resolution capability across business and IT stakeholders.
  • Practical AI literacy: ability to use approved AI/Copilot-style tools to improve analysis, synthesis, documentation and communication while applying human review, quality control and confidentiality discipline.
