NX Engineer Proficiency P1
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Schematic / P&ID Design Engineer to join our Product Definition Engineer (PDE) team specializing in Gas Turbine / Steam Turbine / Generator Accessory Systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, reviewing, and maintaining Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and engineering schematics using Aveva Diagrams, supporting the full lifecycle of gas turbine packages.
Work Experience
Design & Documentation
Develop, revise, and maintain P&IDs and schematics for GT/ST/GEN accessory systems including:
Create engineering drawings using Aveva Diagrams in compliance with project and industry standards
Ensure accurate representation of instrumentation, valves, pipelines, and control elements within diagrams
Manage and update instrument tag lists, line lists, and equipment lists linked to Aveva Diagrams
Maintain drawing registers and revision history within the Aveva environment
Document the changes, getting approvals, release process and Product Life Cycle Management.
Review & Quality
Perform self-checks and peer reviews of P&IDs for accuracy and compliance
Incorporate comments from interdisciplinary reviews (mechanical, instrumentation, controls, safety)
Ensure diagrams meet project specifications, client standards, and regulatory requirements
Familiar with implementation of SIL, Hazardous zone classification, etc.,
Collaboration & Communication
Coordinate with engineering teams and implement their comments
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to incorporate vendor-supplied system data into P&IDs
Support project engineers in responding to technical queries (TQs) related to schematics
Participate in internal design review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Education
Requirement Details
Education
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, or Instrumentation Engineering
Experience
1-3 years in P&ID / Schematic creation
Preferred Domain
Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Turbomachinery
Must Have
Hands-on experience with Aveva Diagrams (formerly known as Aveva P&ID)
Proficiency in reading and creating P&IDs and engineering schematics
Knowledge of ISA 5.1 standards or ANSI Y32.10/11 for instrumentation symbols and identification
Familiarity with piping components, control valves, instrumentation tags, and process flow concepts
Basic understanding of gas turbine systems or rotating equipment accessory packages
Good to Have
Exposure to Aveva Engineering / Aveva Everything3D (E3D) ecosystem
Experience with Smartplant P&ID, AutoCAD P&ID, MS Visio and COMOS as secondary tools
Knowledge of ATEX / hazardous area classification documentation
Familiar with ANSI Y32.10/11, ISA 5.1, KKS Tagging standards, RDS PP, VGB tagging standards
Understanding of SIL/HAZOP documentation workflows
