Role: Mainframe Application Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe COBOL Developer with strong expertise in IBM Mainframe application development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Enterprise COBOL, JCL, and DB2 application development and should be capable of designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe (z/OS).

• Develop, modify, and optimize JCL scripts for batch processing.

• Perform application development and maintenance using Mainframe DB2.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues.

• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

• Support production environments, including incident analysis and defect resolution.

• Optimize application performance and improve system efficiency.

• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and technical teams for successful delivery.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–8 years of experience in Mainframe application development.

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Enterprise COBOL (System Z)

  • JCL (System Z)

  • Mainframe DB2 Application Development

• Good understanding of IBM z/OS environments.

• Experience in batch processing and production support.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Good communication skills.
