About The Job:
- The Capacity & Performance Management Engineer is responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and optimizing infrastructure capacity and performance across server, virtualization, and container platforms.
- The role ensures system availability, supports incident resolution, and drives proactive performance improvements through data driven insights and automation.
- Experience: Minimum 8+ Year Relevant in Capacity & Performance Planning
- Shift Timing: 06:30 PM IST to 03:30 AM IST (US – EST Timing)
Essential Job Functions:
- Capacity Trend Analysis — Direct and support monitoring of performance trends to plan for future capacity growth across the environment.
- Capacity Forecasting — Produce capacity forecasts using business unit inputs, measured utilization, and plan to actual tracking.
- Performance Data Analysis — Develop programs and processes to analyze performance data for root cause identification and capacity optimization.
- Performance Monitoring Solutions — Design and implement procedures for capacity management and performance monitoring of assigned components.
- Reporting & Visualization — Create and publish workload, statistical, and exception reports to identify anomalies and maintain performance baselines.
- Incident Support — Provide analytical support to expedite incident resolution and participate in production support calls.
- Root Cause Investigation — Assist in identifying underlying issues impacting performance or capacity.
- Server & Virtualization Troubleshooting — Troubleshoot Linux, Windows, and ESX servers and recommend resolution options.
- Infrastructure Performance Analysis — Analyze performance and capacity issues across infrastructure systems to ensure compliance and stability.
- Business Continuity Support — Provide analysis to ensure system availability and continuity.
- Shift Support — Participate in shift rotations during peak seasons.
Qualifications:
Must Have Skills
- Server Performance Analysis — Strong understanding of server performance metrics and tuning.
- VMware Administration — Hands on experience with VMware ESX/ESXi environments.
- OpenShift Knowledge — Familiarity with container platforms and performance considerations.
- Monitoring Tools — Experience with Grafana/Telegraf or equivalent tools (e.g., BMC).
- Root Cause Analysis — Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Incident Management — Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Reporting & Visualization — Ability to create meaningful performance dashboards and reports.
- Communication & Articulation — Clear verbal communication and ability to articulate technical findings.
- Project Management — Ability to manage tasks, timelines, and cross team coordination.
Good to Have Skills
- Automation Scripting — Bash, Python, or PowerShell for performance data automation.
- Cloud Capacity Concepts — Understanding of cloud native capacity and performance models.
- ITIL Processes — Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in capacity management, performance engineering, or infrastructure operations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
