Sr ITOM Developer

Role Overview

The ITOM Developer will be responsible for developing, configuring, testing, and maintaining ServiceNow ITOM Service Mapping solutions. The role includes strong involvement in unit testing, system testing, and UAT support to ensure high-quality and stable ITOM implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and configure Service Mapping for applications, business services, and infrastructure components.
• Configure discovery patterns, entry points, probes, sensors, and identification rules.
• Create and maintain CI relationships ensuring alignment with CMDB and CSDM standards.
• Develop scripts using JavaScript, Script Includes, Business Rules, and supporting ITOM components.
• Perform unit testing for all Service Mapping configurations and custom scripts.
• Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Analyze test defects, identify root cause, and apply fixes or configuration updates.
• Validate service maps post-deployment and during upgrades to ensure data accuracy and performance.
• Support production rollout, post-go-live verification, and early-life support.
• Assist with troubleshooting ITOM, discovery, service mapping, and CMDB data issues.
• Maintain test cases, test results, and technical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to platform standards, quality guidelines, and change management processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of ServiceNow development experience.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM Service Mapping and Discovery.
• Good understanding of CMDB, CI lifecycle, and CSDM concepts.
• Experience in unit testing, SIT, and UAT support for ServiceNow implementations.
• Ability to debug scripts and analyze logs to resolve testing and production defects.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting objects.
• Basic understanding of integrations (REST/SOAP) and MID Server setup.
