QA Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated QA Engineer with strong expertise in API, database, and cloud-based application testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating REST APIs, AWS Lambda services, and backend database operations, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for REST APIs, AWS Lambda functions, and backend services.
• Validate API functionality, request/response payloads, authentication, authorization, error handling, and data integrity.
• Verify end-to-end data flow across APIs, Lambda functions, databases, and downstream integrations.
• Execute SQL queries to validate data accuracy, transformations, business rules, and integration outcomes.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Test event-driven and asynchronous workflows involving AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and DynamoDB.
• Develop and maintain automated API test suites using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Karate.
• Analyze application logs, CloudWatch metrics, and database records to identify and troubleshoot defects.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and architects to ensure quality is built into the solution from design through deployment.
• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing and quality gates.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on backend and API testing.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, JSON, authentication mechanisms, and API security concepts.
• Hands-on experience with API testing and automation tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, or similar frameworks.
• Strong database knowledge with hands-on experience writing and validating SQL queries, including joins, aggregations, and subqueries.
• Experience testing relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Experience testing AWS Lambda-based applications and serverless architectures.
• Working knowledge of AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes, Git, defect tracking tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Java or Python for test automation.
• Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Experience validating event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing.
• AWS Cloud certification is a plus.
