About The Job:
- Seeking an experienced Middleware Engineer/Architect with strong expertise in Client MQ, Apache Kafka, and MQ to Kafka migration initiatives.
- The role involves designing, implementing, administering, securing, and optimizing enterprise messaging platforms while supporting large-scale integration and modernization programs.
- Experience: 8-12 Years
- Strong experience in Client MQ and Apache Kafka.
- Hands-on experience in MQ to Kafka migration projects.
Essential Job Functions:
MQ Solution Architecture & Engineering
- Design MQ-based integration solutions including queue manager topology, channels, security models, message flows, and messaging patterns aligned with enterprise integration standards.
- Provide architecture guidance on synchronous and asynchronous messaging patterns, message durability, ordering, idempotency, and error-handling strategies.
- Define and enforce non-functional requirements including availability, scalability, latency, throughput, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
MQ Platform Build, Administration & Operations (Infrastructure + Administration)
- Install, configure, and administer Client MQ across Linux, Windows, and containerized environments.
- Manage queue managers, channels, queues, listeners, security configurations, and high-availability deployments.
- Support production environments and ensure stable messaging operations.
- Perform root cause analysis and incident resolution for critical messaging platform issues.
- Drive platform modernization and migration initiatives from Client MQ to Apache Kafka.
- Monitor system performance and optimize messaging throughput and latency.
- Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and platform management.
Qualifications:
Skill Requirements
- 8+ years in enterprise middleware/integration roles with deep hands-on Client MQ experience.

Strong MQ administration skills including:
- Queue Manager Configuration
- Channels and Clustering
- MQSC Scripting
- runmqsc
- mqcli
- dmpmqcfg
- Performance tuning, log management, and optimization for persistent and non-persistent messaging.
- Strong platform operations experience on Linux (preferred) and Windows environments.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery engineering experience including Multi-Instance Queue Managers and Clustering/HA architectures.

Strong MQ Security expertise including:
- TLS/SSL Configuration
- Certificate Management
- Keystores
- Cipher Suites
- CHLAUTH Rules
- User Authentication
- OAM/ACL Management

Strong monitoring and troubleshooting expertise using:
- MQ Logs and Errors (AMQERR01)
- MQ Event Messages
- MQ Tracing
- System Logs
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Geneos, Prometheus/Grafana, and ELK.
Must Have Skills
- Client MQ Administration.

Other Requirements
- Experience with MQ modernization and Kafka-based messaging architectures.
