Network Consultant - VPN

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with 7-8 years of experience in enterprise network security environments. The ideal candidate will have strong handson expertise with Fortinet FortiGate, Check Point Firewalls, and Skyhigh (McAfee) Web Proxies, along with endtoend lifecycle management, production incident support (P1/P2), and compliance operations. Good working knowledge of Azure/AWS and experience with automation tools (Python, Terraform, Ansible) is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Security Operations

• Provide advanced operational support for:
  • Fortinet FortiGate firewalls
  • Check Point NextGen Firewalls
  • Skyhigh/McAfee Web Gateway (Web Proxies)
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across firewall and proxy platforms.
• Manage and lead P1/P2 incident calls, ensuring timely restoration of services.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

2. Lifecycle Management

• Plan and execute:
  • Software/firmware upgrades
  • Hardware replacements/refresh
  • Policy optimization and cleanup
  • Configuration standardization
• Evaluate EOL/EOS devices and coordinate replacement strategies.
• Ensure adherence to change management processes (ITIL).

3. Compliance & Security Governance

• Monitor and remediate compliance violations across network security infrastructure.
• Ensure configurations meet internal security standards and audit requirements.
• Work with security and compliance teams to address gaps and implement corrective actions.

4. Cloud Networking (Good to Have)

• Working knowledge of Azure and AWS networking, including:
  • VPC/VNet architecture
  • Security groups, NACLs, routing
  • Cloud firewalls and web security controls
• Support hybrid network architecture integration with onprem systems.

5. Automation & Infrastructure as Code (Nice to Have)

• Use Python, Terraform, and Ansible to automate upgrades and chronic issues is Major plus.
  • Configuration deployments
  • Validation and compliance checks
  • Device onboarding and updates
• Contribute to automation pipelines and templates for repeatable tasks.

6. Documentation & Collaboration

• Maintain detailed documentation for network diagrams, change procedures, and configurations.
• Collaborate with SOC, Cloud, Application, and Compliance teams for crossfunctional initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex projects.
