About The Job:
  • The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for technical products, equipment, electronic components, spare parts and infrastructure that support engineering & manufacturing objectives.
  • This role leads end-to-end sourcing activities, supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations, and contract execution to deliver measurable outcomes in cost, quality, delivery, risk management, and innovation.
  • The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong business acumen, and partners effectively with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to support business growth and technology initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
Sourcing
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities across technical categories including equipment, electronic components, spare parts, and manufcaturing infrastructure.
  • Drive disciplined RFQ/RFP processes, competitive bidding, supplier evaluations, selection, and award recommendations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost, quality, service, and delivery objectives while ensuring long-term value for the business.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, standardization, and strategic partnerships.
  • Supplier Relationship Management & Performance Identify, qualify, develop, and manage suppliers to meet business requirements for cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and technology capabilities.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and conduct regular business reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assess and mitigate supplier risks, including supply continuity, financial health, capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, and single-source dependencies.
  • Support supplier innovation initiatives and technology roadmaps to enable future business needs.
Contract Management
  • Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to develop, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including NDAs, Statements of Work, and supply agreements.
  • Ensure contracts include appropriate commercial terms, service levels, deliverables, intellectual property protections, confidentiality requirements, risk mitigation provisions, and termination rights.
Cost Optimization & Financial Analysis
  • Deliver annual cost savings, cost avoidance, and value improvement targets.
  • Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership assessments to support sourcing decisions.
  • Monitor spending, savings performance, and budget adherence across assigned categories.
  • Develop business cases and sourcing recommendations supported by financial and operational analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Finance, Legal, Quality, and other stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business priorities.
  • Support new product development, technology programs, capital investments, and operational initiatives through proactive supplier engagement.
  • Ensure sourcing decisions support project timelines, technical requirements, and business objectives.
  • Influence stakeholders and drive alignment on sourcing strategies, supplier selections, and commercial outcomes.
Qualifications:
Skills Required:
  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, category management, or supply chain management with responsibility for technical or indirect spend categories.
  • Proven track record leading sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract management with measurable business results.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and commercial negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with sourcing, procurement, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa) and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Preferred:
  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, technology, engineering, or other high-tech environments.
  • Experience sourcing equipment, electronic components, spare parts or technology-related categories.
  • Experience in supporting manufacturing plants, new product introduction (NPI) and new technology development
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
