Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, we are looking for a UI Automation Engineer / Software Developer to join our Industrial Automation Digital Organization. The role requires a software engineering professional with expertise in UI automation, API automation, cloud-native applications, and modern quality engineering practices. You will be responsible for developing scalable automation frameworks, improving end-to-end quality validation, and contributing to engineering excellence through AI-assisted automation, CI/CD integration, and Agile software development methodologies.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation - Automation Digital organization in Bangalore, India. Main stakeholders include Software Engineering, Product Management, Quality Engineering, DevOps, and Platform Engineering teams.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI, API, and end-to-end automation frameworks to validate cloud-native applications and business-critical product workflows, ensuring reliable software quality and release readiness.
  • Improve automation reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency by troubleshooting automation failures, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, enhancing test frameworks, and supporting performance validation and simulation-based testing activities.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Software Engineering, DevOps, Quality Engineering, and cross-functional teams to automate critical business scenarios, support Agile delivery, and ensure continuous quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Leverage AI-assisted and Agentic AI engineering practices to accelerate test development, debugging, automation coverage, and engineering productivity while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and software quality best practices.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-6 years of experience in Software Development, Test Automation, or Quality Engineering, with expertise in enterprise application testing and automation.
  • Strong programming skills in C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with hands-on experience in Selenium, Playwright, Protractor, or similar UI automation frameworks, along with UI and API test automation development.
  • Good understanding of REST/SOAP web services, automation framework architecture, software design principles, CI/CD pipelines, web technologies, application architecture, and debugging techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, distributed engineering environments, AI-assisted development tools, and Agentic AI-based automation approaches is preferred. Azure certifications are considered an advantage.
  • Exposure to cloud-native application testing, performance validation, simulation-based testing, and modern DevOps practices is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams and continuously improve engineering quality.
