Job Title: Assistant Manager – Design (Heavy Machinery)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager – Design with strong technical expertise and proven team management skills to lead the design and development of heavy industrial machinery. This role requires ownership of design projects along with effective team handling, mentoring, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of design engineers and CAD designers.
\n
• Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely project delivery.
\n
• Review team designs, drawings, and calculations for accuracy and quality.
\n
• Drive team productivity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
\n
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to team members.
\n
• Handle performance feedback and support team development.
\n
• Design and develop heavy machinery, including structures, assemblies, and systems.
\n
• Create and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs.
\n
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and quality benchmarks.
\n
• Coordinate with Production, R&D, and Quality teams for smooth execution.
\n
• Identify design improvements for cost optimization and performance enhancement.
\n
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation.
\n

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong team handling and leadership skills (must-have).
\n
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
\n
• Expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD).
\n
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, and heavy equipment design.
\n
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
\n
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n

Qualification & Experience:

\n
• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
\n
• Experience: 5–12 years in heavy machinery design
\n
• Team Handling Experience: Minimum 2–3 years managing a design team
\n
• Experience in laser / CNC / automation machines is a strong advantage
\n
