\n\nROLE DESCRIPTION
\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Design & Development (D&D) Head . The role carries end-to-end ownership of new machinery development and the enhancement of existing product lines, covering design strategy, engineering execution, prototyping, validation, and documentation. The position combines deep mechanical design expertise with team leadership and cross-functional coordination across Production, Procurement, Quality, Sales, and Service. Products mainly Textile Printing Solutions – Digital, Flatbed, and Rotary as well as Stenters.

\nWorks in Coordination With: Product Head and other Departmental HODs
\n\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Lead the Design and R&D department for the development of new machinery and enhancement of existing products \n
- Define product design strategy aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and market trends \n
- Manage concept development, engineering calculations, 3D modelling, detailing, prototyping, and product validation \n
- Drive innovation through research on new technologies, materials, manufacturing processes, and automation solutions \n
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements \n
- Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Quality, Sales, and Service teams to achieve manufacturable and cost-effective designs \n
- Lead Value Engineering (VE) and Value Analysis (VA) initiatives to optimize product cost and performance \n
- Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analysis for field issues \n
- Supervise prototype manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and product performance evaluation \n
- Standardize engineering documentation including drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), design calculations, specifications, and manuals \n
- Oversee engineering change management (ECN/ECR) and product lifecycle management \n
- Manage CAD/PDM systems and maintain engineering data integrity \n
- Mentor and develop design engineers, assigning projects and monitoring technical performance \n
- Coordinate with customers and suppliers for technical discussions, customization, and new product development \n
- Monitor project timelines and resource utilization \n
- Protect intellectual property through patents, design registrations, and confidentiality practices where applicable \n
- Support manufacturing during new product launch and resolve technical issues during production \n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction \n

REQUIREMENTS
\n\nQualifications & Skills
\n- \n
- B.E. in Mechanical Engineering \n
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the machinery manufacturing industry, including at least 3 years in a senior or leadership position \n
- Experience with working on textile machinery is preferred \n
- Expertise in machine design, mechanical engineering, and product development \n
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Inventor, or AutoCAD) \n
- Knowledge of FEA, GD&T, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and engineering calculations \n
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, casting, and assembly \n
- Project management and leadership skills \n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities \n
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration \n
