Role Overview
We are seeking an experiencedSAP S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) Consultant/Architectto lead the design and implementation of product configuration capabilities for a complex manufacturing environment.
This role is central to enabling configuration-driven sales and manufacturing processes for highly customizable products, including golf equipment and accessories. The consultant will play a key role in translating existing product logic from legacy systems (Infor) into scalable, rule-based models within SAP AVC.
Key Responsibilities
Lead theend-to-end design and implementation of SAP AVCin an S/4HANA greenfield environment
Translate complex product configurations into:
Characteristics, classes, and configuration profiles
Constraint-based dependency models
Work closely with business stakeholders to:
Understand existing configuration logic in Infor
Redesign and optimize for SAP S/4HANA
Integrate AVC with:
Sales & Distribution (SD)for order configuration
Production Planning (PP)for BOM explosion and manufacturing
Design and validate:
Configurable materials (KMAT)
Super BOMs and routings
Variant pricing logic
Ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability of configuration models
Support testing cycles, data migration, and go-live readiness
Provide guidance on best practices for AVC modeling and governance
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of SAP experience withstrong focus on Variant Configuration
Proven hands-on experience withSAP S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC)
Experience ingreenfield S/4HANA implementations(must-have)
Strong expertise in:
Characteristics & classes
Configuration profiles
Constraints, procedures, preconditions
Deep understanding of:
Configurable materials (KMAT)
Super BOMs and dependency-driven BOM explosion
Experience integrating AVC with:
SD (Sales)andPP (Manufacturing)
Prior experience inmanufacturing environments with highly configurable products
Ability to translate business rules into structured configuration logic
Preferred Qualifications
Experience migrating fromInfor (or similar ERP) to SAP S/4HANA
Prior exposure to industries such as:
Discrete manufacturing
Consumer goods with product customization
Experience withvariant pricing and advanced dependency modeling
Strong stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation skills
