About the Role: Senior MTS - Cloud Test
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Member of Technical Staff to join our Networking Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving end-to-end quality engineering initiatives for Aviatrix's edge gateway platform and advanced networking capabilities. You will work across a broad portfolio of technologies including edge gateway deployments in co-location and bare-metal environments, BGP routing and policy validation, high-availability architectures, hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity, and advanced networking topologies such as underlay VRF and edge-as-transit. This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep networking expertise, strong automation skills, excellent communication and collaboration, and the ability to work closely with development, product management, and customer-facing teams to deliver highly reliable cloud networking solutions.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies and validation plans for edge gateway platforms and networking features.
- Own feature quality for deployments across co-location environments (Equinix, Megaport) and bare-metal infrastructures.
- Validate routing protocols and networking functionalities including BGP policies, route propagation, route filtering, gateway failover, and zero-downtime upgrade scenarios.
- Test advanced networking architectures including edge-as-transit, underlay VRF, hybrid cloud connectivity, and multi-cloud networking scenarios.
- Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks and regression suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Build test environments and infrastructure required for feature validation and customer use-case replication.
- Partner closely with software engineering teams to improve feature testability, identify quality risks early, and drive defect prevention.
- Investigate, reproduce, and troubleshoot complex customer-reported issues in lab environments.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows for test generation, debugging, infrastructure provisioning, and productivity improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality engineering processes, automation, and release readiness.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in networking QA, cloud platform testing, network engineering, or related domains.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud networking technologies and distributed networking systems.
- Experience working with edge networking platforms, NFV solutions, bare-metal environments, or virtual network appliances.
- Good understanding of virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, KVM, OpenStack, virtual switching, and virtualized network function deployments.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, BGP, VPN technologies, and network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with multi-cloud networking architectures across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience validating high-availability solutions, failover mechanisms, and software upgrade scenarios.
- Proficiency in Python programming and automation development.
- Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD systems and modern development workflows.
- Strong debugging skills using packet capture and network analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
Preferred
- Familiarity with AI-driven engineering tools, Generative AI applications, or agentic workflows in software testing and engineering productivity.
- Experience with cloud overlay networking or SD-WAN platforms such as Aviatrix, Cisco SD-WAN, VMware VeloCloud, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with advanced networking technologies including SRv6, Segment Routing, and MPLS.
- Experience with edge orchestration and NFV management platforms such as EVE-OS.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud connectivity technologies including AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, VMware HCX, or similar solutions.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Exposure to network performance engineering, benchmarking, scale testing, throughput analysis, and latency measurements.
- Prior experience mentoring junior engineers and driving feature ownership across multiple releases.
