Vice President - Data Quality and Governance

Role: Risk and Finance Data Quality Steering

Location: Bengaluru, India
Function: Chief Data Office (CDO) - Risk & Finance
Reports to:

• Head of Risk and Finance DQ steering in BGL

Role Purpose

• Assist in the global strategy for improving data quality across Risk (RISQ) and Finance (DFIN)
• Establish strong monitoring, reporting and governance of critical data
• Ensure consistent, trusted and certified data sources across the organization
• Support data owners in strengthening data quality practices

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Quality Strategy & Governance

• Help define and drive the global data quality strategy for RISQ and DFIN
• Establish data quality standards, frameworks and governance practices
• Ensure alignment across Risk and Finance functions

2. Data Quality Monitoring & Reporting

• Design and implement tools to track and report data quality
• Set up processes for issue tracking, escalation and resolution
• Provide regular insights on data quality performance to leadership

3. Support to Data Owners

• Work closely with RISQ and DFIN data owners
• Help identify and close gaps in existing data quality processes
• Promote accountability and ownership of data quality

4. Data Source Certification

• Identify and define "master" and "authorized" data sources
• Lead the certification process for critical data assets
• Ensure consistency and convergence across systems and teams

5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with:
  • Data Lineage teams
  • Process teams
  • IT teams
• Drive cross-functional alignment on data standards and usage

6. Team Leadership

• Lead GSCI DFIN/DMO and RISQ data teams
• Build strong capabilities in data quality management
• Ensure effective delivery across teams

7. DM Tools Strategy (Risk & Finance)

• Define and drive the Data Management (DM) tools strategy for Risk and Finance, ensuring alignment with business needs and data quality objectives.
• Partner with the CFT team to design, implement, and scale tooling solutions that strengthen data governance, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
