Job Description:
Key Responsibilities

Analyze existing source reports in detail to understand functionality, data sources, calculations, and business usage.
Redevelop and rebuild identified reports in Tableau, ensuring functional and visual parity (or improvement) over the original reports.
Identify opportunities to optimize or consolidate underlying data models to improve performance and maintainability.
Contribute to the rationalization effort by flagging redundant, unused, or overlapping reports for consolidation or retirement.
Work closely with the stakeholders to validate migration approach, design standards, and data model decisions.
Guide and review the work of junior developers, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
Perform data validation and testing to ensure migrated reports match source report outputs accurately.
Document the migration approach, data lineage, and any design decisions for each report/data model.
Coordinate with business users/stakeholders to clarify requirements and obtain sign-off on migrated reports.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of overall BI development experience, with hands-on experience in both Spotfire and Tableau.
Prior experience working on a Spotfire-to-Tableau (or similar BI tool) migration project is required.
Strong skills in Tableau dashboard development, calculated fields, parameters, and performance optimization.
Solid understanding of data modeling principles, with the ability to identify and implement model optimizations/consolidations.
Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
Familiarity with GCP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret and reverse-engineer existing Spotfire reports.
Ability to mentor and review work of junior team members.

Good to Have

Experience with data sources such as SQL Server, GCP, or similar data platforms feeding into Tableau/Spotfire.
Familiarity with Tableau Server/Cloud publishing and permissions.
Relevant Tableau certifications.
